Charles J Turck is a pharmacist who graduated from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree and a Pharmacy Doctorate in 2004.  He completed three years of postgraduate training, specializing in both critical care pharmacotherapy and drug information – a specialty focused on medical information retrieval, literature synopses, and formulary management.

He began his career in community pharmacy, eventually moving to the hospital and academic settings.  Since 2004 he has taught a number of didactic courses to pharmacy and graduate nursing students in the areas of critical care, drug information, emergency medicine, and internal medicine; in 2010, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing.  He currently practices in a mixed medical-surgical ICU, rounding with the medical team on a daily basis, where he also precepts pharmacy residents and students on clinical rotations.  He precepted [taught experientially] 21 pharmacy students and four pharmacy residents

He is the President and CEO of ScientiaCME, LLC, a continuing medical education company, and is the Principal and CEO of Scientia Perpetuam, LLC, a medical writing and consulting company.  He has written manuscripts published in the peer-reviewed literature and presented posters at the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s annual congress (2009) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists midyear clinical meetings.  He is the co-coordinator of a multidisciplinary-directed monthly synopsis of literature concerning updates in critical care pharmacotherapy (CCPLUG), and he also regularly wrote medical news for ReachMD XM Radio 160, the Channel for Medical Professionals for a three-year period.
